IT Security Specialist
- Develop and implement IT security policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and endpoint security solutions.
- Monitor security events and incidents, investigate security breaches, and respond to security alerts in a timely manner.
- Perform security testing and vulnerability scanning to assess the effectiveness of existing security controls and identify potential weaknesses.
- Provide security awareness training and education to our clients, staff members to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the development, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
- Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies through continuous learning and participation in professional development activities.
- Support incident response activities, including forensic analysis, evidence collection, and reporting, to ensure timely resolution of security incidents.
- Maintain documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incident response plans to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
Relevant Experience and Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring the following to this role:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an IT Security Specialist or in a similar role.
• Preferably experience in working in MSP/MSSP environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong background in Infrastructure management, preferably with Microsoft certifications.
• Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint security solutions.
• Proficiency in performing security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
